A project by a major private real estate developer in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, will include a permanent Cirque du Soleil show.
The promoter, Nakheel, will build a 1,800-seat theatre designed by Cirque du Soleil. The partners have signed an initial 15-year agreement, under which the first performances of the Cirque du Soleil show are scheduled for fourth-quarter 2010.
The deal was negotiated in the wake of the resounding success of Cirque du Soleil’s touring show Quidam, which was staged in Dubai in January 2007.
