In the age of globalization, the Asia-Pacific region has become essential. China, India, and Japan have become the main partners with which Québec intends to develop and strengthen political, institutional, economic, and cultural ties. The Government of Québec already has a Government Office in Tokyo and two offices in China (in Beijing and Shanghai). In 2008, it also opened an office in Mumbai, India.
